Dr Alice Jameson
Clinical Psychologist
I have worked for over a decade in the NHS, including with many adults, children and young people affected by OCD. I am passionate about delivering the right support at the right time to help my clients overcome OCD and I have found that Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) can be a hugely effective method for this. As ERP involves using a gradual approach, the pace can be adapted to suit each client, leading many of my clients to feel confident and empowered by their therapy. ERP also involves creativity, which allows my clients to truly shape their own therapy and to have fun in the process.
When I work with my clients, I treat them with compassion and care, as I understand how huge and devastating an impact OCD can have on a person’s life. Drawing on my previous clinical experience enables me to hold onto the hope that progress can be made. I provide my clients with the right level of support, encouragement and challenge, to start overcoming OCD and reclaiming their life. I often find that including important loved ones (such as parents when working with young people) in our work can help support my clients with their therapy. By the end of our therapeutic work, I aim for my clients to feel confident in maintaining their progress independently, beyond our sessions.
