Dr Benedetta Monzani

Senior Clinical Psychologist

I am HCPC registered Senior Clinical Psychologist who specialises in the assessment and treatment of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD) and Related Disorders.

I have over 10 years of clinical and research experience in this field, having trained and worked at various (adult and children) specialist OCD clinics in the UK and USA, including the N&S OCD, BDD & Related Disorders Service for Young People and the Centre for Anxiety Disorders and Trauma (CADAT) at the South London and Maudsley NHS Trust (London, UK), the BDD Clinic & Research Institute at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School (Boston, USA), and the OCD Institute at McLean Hospital/Harvard Medical School in Boston (USA).

Alongside my clinical practice, I continue to be actively involved in writing about, and research into, OCD, BDD and related disorders. I have published over 30 peer-reviewed articles and continue to raise awareness and understanding of OCD and related conditions through teaching, supervision/consultation, media, and research. I am also proud to be a trustee of the BDD Foundation, a charity for individuals with BDD and their carers, aimed at raising awareness and providing support to those impacted by the condition (www.bddfoundation.org).

With a friendly and supportive approach, I am committed to empowering individuals through compassionate care and evidence-based practices, helping them navigate their journey towards recovery.
